Dr. Deowall Chattar-Cora is a well-respected plastic and reconstructive surgeon with nearly 30 years of clinical practice and over 23 years of clinical experience in the different areas of plastic surgery.
He completed his medical school training at the prestigious New York University School of Medicine. After conducting a year of research, he completed a general surgical residency in New Jersey. He then spent a year training as a burn surgeon in New York City. Three years were then spent in a residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio training as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon. A subsequent year was devoted to subspecialty training in hand and microsurgery at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio.
Dr. Chattar-Cora’s Background and Experience
From 2007-2013 Dr. Chattar-Cora was on the faculty of the division of plastic and reconstructive surgery and department of orthopedic surgery once again at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio. Since April 2013 he has been in private practice where he sees patients with various concerns in the areas of aesthetic surgery, burn surgery, hand surgery, skin cancer, reconstructive surgery, scar management, and wound care.
He draws on his clinical expertise to clearly explain complex medical conditions in a non-biased fashion to non-medical people. He does this daily in his clinical practice and when asked by attorneys.
Since finishing his formal training, he has served as an honest legal consultant and expert medical witness for both plaintiffs and defendants.
