Patient Information
61-year-old with a complex breast history. Initially, she had silicone breast implants placed 20 years before visiting our office. Unfortunately, 15 years before visiting us, because of concerns about breast cancer, a lumpectomy was performed on the right side and the implants were eventually removed. Some time later, tissue expanders were placed, followed by the subsequent placement of silicone breast implants. Unfortunately, the implants had to be removed because of wound problems. Thirteen years before seeing us, a second round of tissue expanders was placed, and she underwent successful placement of 800cc silicone breast implants. Unfortunately, she began to develop pain and firmness in both breasts, and testing showed that the implants were ruptured. The ruptured implants were removed, and at the patient’s request, new 750cc cohesive breast implants, also known as gummy implants, were placed and a breast lift was performed. After surgery, her pain was gone, and she was happy with the shape and size of her outcome. She is shown three months after surgery.
